Granting new owner access rights to the account data

The template allows to automatically provide newly appointed manager with permission to access the account data. The template is applicable if the access rights in Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Orders and Activities sections are restricted (for example, access to an opportunity is by default granted only to the owner and his manager).

There are two pre-configured options of granting the access rights:

1. Grant access to account-related data. New responsible manager receives Read and Edit permission for account’s contacts, opportunities, orders and activities.
2. Assign new manager as owner of current data and grant access to account history. New responsible manager is automatically appointed as the owner of all outstanding opportunities and orders and activities in progress and gets Read permission to other account data.

Select the preferred option of granting access rights during business process first launch or specify the option in the ‘Default option of granting access rights to new owner’ system setting.

The template is helpful as an example to customize business processes with conditional granting of the access rights (for example, when new owner of contact has been assigned or when new manager is added to an opportunity team).
